Noisettes Get Loud -
By: Kali B. of www.TheRhythmJunkie.com  -

NoisettesThere’s a funky Punk and Soul band hailing from London-town that’s been taking over people’s eyes and ears with an eclectic sound and a fly front woman who knows how to rock a crowd. That band’s name is Noisettes and their leading lady is the lovely Shingai Shoniwa.

Noisettes have been the talk of the town for a few years now, but it looks like 2009 is their time to shine, as they’ve been touring like mad in Europe & the US, and featured on The Late Show with David Letterman, Wendy Williams, and Ellen. Word on the street is that singer and bassist Shingai Shoniwa is a true treat to watch Live. With a voice infused with Rock and Blues, a stage presence that is infectious and unapologetically raw and delightful, Shoniwa is just one of those truly talented artists that doesn’t just give people what they want, but also what they need; a truly entertaining show with top notch music.

NoisettesThe London beauty of Zimbabwean heritage is a lover of all performing arts, which might explain why this former burlesque dancer knows how to deliver a thorough performance. Alongside her just-as-great band mates, guitarist Dan Smith and drummer Jamie Morrison, Noisettes are currently hitting venues to promote their latest album, Wild Young Hearts.

While their second single, “Don’t Upset the Rhythm” has been gaining popularity in the U.S., it’s the first singe off Wild Young Hearts, entitled “Never Forget You” that has propelled them to center stage this year. They have been given the nod from many publications such as Spin and Entertainment Weekly, all echoing the sentiments that Noisettes are on to something great and infectious in the music arena. Rhythm Junkie approved;-)

Treat yourself to the Noisettes experience with these videos and live performance for “Never Forget You” and “Don’t Upset The Rhythm.”

I really like the Noisettes! Shingai Shoniwa's hair represents the dopeness and versatility of natural hair.

Hi Ladies - Thank you so much for the info! We checked into it and Shingai Shoniwa's mother is from Zimbabwe. You're absolutely correct. Many thanks, and have a fabulous day. Yardley Messeroux

The Noisettes are excellent! Definitely one of my favourite bands ever. Miss Shoniwa is NOT Nigerian, her heritage lies in Zimbabwe
