 With the holidays being right around the corner, many of us have undoubtedly begun searching our local malls and shops for our loved ones’ gifts. It’s often difficult to find products that cater to people with natural hair and those who love natural products unless you know where to look.
If your plan is to buy something for a fellow natural sister or brother, consider some of these products. For The Babies: The Princess & The Frog-Tiana Doll The Princess Tiana doll, made by Mattel, was released during the summer. As a young girl, I would have loved to see Disney have a black princess. I’ve developed a soft spot for the Tiana doll, and I think girls will love it, too. There are a couple of different versions to choose from, and it depends on the toy store. (Prices vary) Something for Everyone: Carol’s Daughter I am a devoted fan of Carol’s Daughter. If you’re searching for some great scents, hair or skin products, Carol’s Daughter is a great place to start. Products include something for men, women and children. If you’ve yet to try some of these products, I suggest you check out the website as a part of your holiday shopping. The gift set would be cute to pair with Disney’s Tiana Doll for younger girls.

If you know someone who likes to make a statement with fashion, you might want to consider something like this as a gift. “Swarthy Daisy” - I love the message behind this handmade line. Products depict a daisy with the face of a black woman in the center. The design is feminine and unique, and you can find these products on www.etsy.com. Key in ‘Swarthy Daisy’ and you’ll find shirts, tank tops, totes and buttons.
If you know someone who is into candles, Jocelyn Howard, the creator of Soul Scentz, makes some great ones. Her candles aren’t overpowering and have natural fragrances with interesting blends that really permeate a room whether a candle is lit or not.
