Ladies, You can achieve that look by using stretching techniques that do not harm your hair. You do not need a blow dryer or any heat to stretch your coils. The are many techniques. My favorites are the banding method, and flat twisting. If you want patterns in your hair braid-outs, twist-outs and bantu knot-outs will suffice. However, it is very popular to part the hair in sections and do large two-strand twist over night and fluff your hair out in the morning. It is also healthy for your ends, keeps your hair from tangling and assist in retaining length. - Christine Stowers

My best friend skinned her head... Man I hate it. She said she was cutting off 500 years worth of oppression so boy, I weren't gonna argue.
I transition slowly... Like of a year. I just cut the ends off month by month. style it in chiney bumps (bantu) and thats it.
Regardless off how her head looks, she has decided to keep it short because she said that when her hair (4C)was growing out it doesn't look as soft as mine (4b). dare I tell her this but, Isn't that still oppression? - Maxine

Absolutely stunning! It may be a slight blow-out with a wide tooth comb + her hair is pretty long. Looks like a few years of growth. If you would a brush or comb that's teeth are close together, the more straighten the look will be. I think you should put products on your hair before and after the blow-out. Either way, it's gorgeous. I love the natural look!! - MJ
